# Rubric generator

> Create structured, exportable grading rubrics for any assignment type

The rubric generator creates standardized grading rubrics that ensure fair and consistent assessment.

## How to generate a rubric

1. Go to **Dashboard** → **Tools** → **Rubric Generator**
2. Fill in the following:
   * **Grade level** — Pre-K through College
   * **Standard/Objective** — The learning standard or objective being assessed
   * **Assignment type** — Essay, project, presentation, lab report, etc.
   * **Point scale** — 4-point, 5-point, or custom
   * **Language** — Output language
   * **Standards set** — CCSS, TEKS, Ontario, Florida, or custom
3. Optionally add custom requirements
4. Click **Generate**
5. Review and edit the rubric
6. Export to your preferred format

## Rubric types

| Type              | Description                                               | Best for                                |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **Analytic**      | Separate scores for each criterion/trait                  | Detailed feedback on specific skills    |
| **Holistic**      | Single overall quality score                              | Quick assessment of overall performance |
| **Single-point**  | Describes proficiency level only, with space for feedback | Formative assessment and conferences    |
| **Checklist**     | Yes/No for each criterion                                 | Simple task completion verification     |
| **Task-specific** | Tailored to a specific assignment                         | Unique or complex assignments           |

## What's included

Each generated rubric contains:

* **Clear performance levels** (e.g., Exceeds, Meets, Approaching, Below)
* **Specific criteria** for each level
* **Detailed descriptors** explaining what each level looks like
* **Standards alignment** mapped to your selected framework
* **Grade-appropriate terminology**
* **Measurable indicators** for objective grading
* **Table-formatted layout** for easy reading
